Training - Workshops and master classes
After initiation courses in our partner schools in the Middle East and Africa, several young people are selected to follow apprenticeships lasting about three months in an atelier of a specialist restorer in Europe associated with Music Fund. After such basic training, these people then return to Palestine, Congo or Mozambique to set up ateliers of their own to restore musical instruments. In Mozambique, they are in fact the first craftsmen of their kind.

 

Thanks to the support of Music Fund, the first restoration atelier in Maputo opened its doors in 2007. It is associated with the local partner school, the Escola de Musica. A similar restoration atelier will in 2008 also open in Kinshasa, in cooperation with our partner there, the Institut National des Arts.
