Transport & distribution - Shipments, couriers, distribution |
Several large shipments of hundreds of instruments were made by truck and ship towards the Middle East (end of 2005 and end of 2006) and another container just left Belgium in March 2008 towards Kinshasa (Congo). In the meantime, smaller shipments have been made to our partners in the Middle East, Mozambique, Congo, or South Africa thanks to ‘couriers': people who travel to these regions and who volunteer to take a musical instrument with them. Music Fund has distributed around 300 to 400 instruments a year in this way. First shipment to Middle East.At the end of 2005, the first shipment of restored instruments was transported to the Middle East by truck. Lukas Pairon, chairman of Music Fund and Pol De Winter, piano expert and managing director of Pianomobil, took the wheel to deliver more than 300 musical instruments in person to the various partner schools in Palestine. Two camera teams (RTBF and Alizé) witnessed the shipment and distribution in Israel and Palestine and produced news reports that were broadcasted by various television channels. | Shipments, couriers, distribution
